The Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Bulgarian Black Sea Alliance and AVIAREPS, recently concluded a promotional tour in Germany aimed at boosting Bulgaria's profile as a tourist destination. The marketing tour, which ended on November 14, 2024, was held across four German cities: Frankfurt, Leipzig, Hanover, and Düsseldorf. This initiative follows previous successful tours in Poland, Germany, and the United Kingdom over the past two years.
Representatives from Bulgaria's tourism sector engaged in B2B meetings with over 100 potential partners from Germany. The primary objective was to strengthen existing business relationships and promote Bulgaria as an attractive destination for tourists.
The Ministry of Tourism was represented by Tihomir Patarinski, the Bulgarian attaché for tourism in Germany. Milena Todorova from the Bulgarian Black Sea Alliance also participated. In Leipzig, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to Germany H.E. Grigor Porozhanov welcomed attendees.
Participants included representatives from various Bulgarian tourism businesses such as Albena Group, Grifid Hotels, HVD Hotels, Hyatt Inclusive Collection, Melia International, and MTS Globe.
The event marked a continuation of efforts to capitalize on the German market's significance for Bulgaria's tourism industry. Meetings took place on November 11 in Frankfurt; November 12 in Leipzig; November 13 in Hanover; and November 14 in Düsseldorf.
Dr. Frank Quante, Chairman of the Management Board of Bulgarian Black Sea Alliance stated: "Besides the very positive feedback we received for this roadshow, it is great that these marketing efforts are now also a normal task for Bulgaria as a tourist destination. Thank you to all who contributed especially to the Ministry of Tourism!"
Germany remains a key target market for Bulgarian tourism products due to its potential despite challenges like those posed by the war in Ukraine. The trip provided opportunities for establishing new contacts with German partners particularly interested in regions favorable for Bulgarian tourism development.
