Krka recently concluded its Week of Charity and Volunteering, marking the twelfth year of this initiative. The event saw participation from nearly one thousand volunteers across Slovenia and 21 other countries where Krka operates. This year's activities were organized under the slogan "Always ready to help" and ended with an Open Doors Day at Krka’s central location in Novo mesto, attended by over 1,800 employees and their families.
The campaign aimed to consolidate Krka's volunteering efforts into a unified initiative, which began in 2012. Volunteers engaged in various charitable acts that included assisting people in need, the elderly, children, and individuals with special needs. Activities ranged from organizing walks for residents of retirement homes to hosting creative workshops for pupils in Slovenia.
Volunteers also contributed to community service by partnering with local organizations such as the Association for Developing Voluntary Work Novo mesto, Red Cross, and Karitas. They provided learning assistance to children and helped distribute donations and food packages.
Throughout the week, volunteers collected significant amounts of clothing, food packages, animal food, and even donated blood across multiple locations including Ljubljana and Novo mesto. This effort is part of Krka's long-standing tradition of fostering a culture of volunteering within its corporate identity.
Young colleagues joined seasoned volunteers this year, bringing new ideas to the campaign. In total, 50 new participants took part in activities that emphasized solidarity as a core value.
A representative group expressed their motivation: “We help because we believe everyone deserves dignity... Because we can brighten someone’s day,” said Krka volunteers wearing green T-shirts symbolizing their volunteer spirit over the past twelve years.
Krka continues to promote community-building through selfless acts that contribute positively to society.
