Following approval from the National Bank of Romania, Banca
Comerciala Carpatica Bank has started final proceedings for merging with Bucharest-based Patria Bank, with plans to retain the latter’s name after the merger.
Banca Comerciala Carpatica Bank is a commercial bank
headquartered in Sibiu providing financial services for individuals
and corporations. Spokespersons for Carpatica said their priority over
the next few weeks will be to streamline the transition for all customers and
partners and continue their client relationships.
“We are glad that the merger came (directly) upon receipt of
prior approval from the National Bank, and we are optimistic that the process
of positioning the new bank on an upward path will be accelerated,” Horia Manda, president
of the board of directors of Commercial Bank Carpatica Bank and Patria, said.
“The new bank, Patria Bank, remains faithful to our mission
to help enhance financial intermediation ([among) Romanians by introducing
simple products and services supported by a business model that allows optimal
service to all categories of customers,” Manda said. “We want also to
support local entrepreneurs and to help develop the domestic capital market."
Carpatica prides itself on fast, efficient banking solutions
for its customers, offering a variety of account options with “e-Smart” electronic
access.
Patria Bank has evolved over the past few years. In
2012, the bank changed its name from MKB Romexterra Bank to Nextebank; its most
recent rebranding as Patria came in March 2016.
