UniCredit Bulbank’s Finance for
Non-Financiers National Programme recently won the Knowledge Investor category
of the annual Bulgarian Forum of Business Leaders’ responsible business awards.

The bank launched the program in the end of
2015 and has since used it to further its overarching goal of fostering
awareness of financial culture in the country and developing residents’ cash-management skills.

The program includes initiatives such as publishing educational materials like the “Finance of non-financiers –
practical ideas for intelligent cash management” series on the bank’s digital
channels. UniCredit has also partnered with media outlets and sent bank management
to schools and universities to deliver lectures on topics ranging from
entrepreneurship, innovations and personal budget management, according to a company release. The bank also focused on financial literacy with its Corporate Calendar
2017, which includes twelve Bulgarian sayings adapted to messages promoting
personal finance.

The awards ceremony took place at the
Bulgarian Forum of Business Leaders and is an effort by the group to
encourage Bulgarian businesses to operate in a socially responsible manner.
Other honorees included interim Minister of Education Prof. Nikolay
Denkov, who received the second prize in the Knowledge Investor category, and British Ambassador Emma Hopkins, who received a special
award.
