The President of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR), Mihai Daraban, met with Gennadiy Chyzhykov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine (UCCI), on September 10, 2025. The meeting took place during the Annual General Assembly of the Association of Balkan Chambers of Commerce. At this event, Romania, represented by its National Chamber, assumed the presidency of the association.

Mihai Daraban stated: “Romania can play a fundamental role in Ukraine’s economic reconstruction, leveraging our geographical advantages and developed infrastructure. The Port of Constanța represents a very important gateway for Ukrainian trade to European and international markets, and our experience in European integration can be valuable for Ukraine’s subsequent path. We need to develop transport and logistics corridors to leverage the strategic advantages of Romanian infrastructure. Additionally, there must be knowledge transfer through mentorship programs and exchange of best practices between business environments from both countries, as well as cooperation in strategic fields such as green energy, digitalization, agriculture, etc., sectors where both countries have competitive advantages and complementarity potential.”
The discussion emphasized collaboration in areas such as green energy, digitalization, agriculture, transport infrastructure development, mentorship initiatives for businesses from both countries, and knowledge sharing related to European integration.
