The Piraeus Port Authority (PPA)

recently welcomed a new cruise ship, Viking Sky, to its port and offered a commemorative plaque to its captain.

The ship, owned by Viking Ocean Cruises, has room for 950 passengers and 490 crew members.

PPA’s management has put a lot of effort into making Piraeus a home port for more ships and participated in Seatrade Cruise Global, which is the largest exhibition for the global cruise industry. PPA management held meetings with cruise companies during the event and came away with numerous prospects, according to a

PPA press release.

New infrastructure, service upgrades and new services make the port more attractive to both passengers and ship companies. PPA also plans to introduce Mediterranean cruises to Chinese passengers soon, with Piraeus as the starting point.
