The Bulgarian Stock Exchange hosted its second Investor Day event on April 28, 2025, at the Inter Expo Center. The forum, titled “Embracing Opportunities,” was opened by key figures including Assoc. Prof. Manyu Moravenov, CEO of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange; Ms. Temenuzhka Petkova, Minister of Finance; Mr. Tomislav Donchev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Innovation and Growth; and Mr. Vasil Golemanski, Chairman of the Financial Supervision Commission.

Assoc. Prof. Manyu Moravenov addressed the audience, discussing the implications of the current geopolitical climate on the Bulgarian market. “Every successful capital market aims to be a connecting factor between investors and promising companies. We are currently experiencing geopolitical instability, affecting the dynamics of the Bulgarian capital market,” he stated. Moravenov highlighted opportunities that arise from such crises and noted the significant inflow of over €5 billion into European assets recently. He added, “The Bulgarian Stock Exchange is a guarantor of accelerated progress and growth for the Bulgarian companies.”

Mr. Vasil Golemanski emphasized the importance of the Investor Day as a crucial event bringing together investors, issuers, and market players. “Investor Day is a landmark event format as it attracts investors, issuers, and all key players in the capital market,” he said. Golemanski pointed out the necessity of ongoing digitisation and technological advancements in strengthening market systems globally. He noted that Bulgaria’s non-banking financial sector is nearing readiness for joining the Eurozone and mentioned the regulatory body’s dual role as both a corrective and partner in business development.

The forum also featured insights from Tsvetoslav Tsachev, Chief Financial Analyst at Elana Trading, who discussed new trends in international markets. Key topics included the prospects and challenges associated with Bulgaria’s upcoming Eurozone accession and the potential for increased investment in the country’s economy.

Investor Day attracted a diverse group of participants, including companies from more than 17 economic sectors with a combined revenue of nearly BGN 10 billion, as well as financial analysts, investors, banks, and investment intermediaries. The event focused on discussing market trends, Bulgaria’s economic forecast within the global landscape, and avenues for corporate growth financing.
