The Greek government of the New Democracy recently called for a better guarantee of the safety of all citizens by ending the tolerance of anarchist fringe elements.

New Democracy President Kyriakos Mitsotakis demanded an end to the
inaccessibility

of the Exarcheia
neighborhood, home to many anarchist elements,
and stressed the need to enforce law and order throughout the country.

A statement accompanying a legislative decree issue by the government said the Tsatsos Foundation and the homes of four members of the Committee of Wise Men have been attacked by “self-styled” revolutionaries, who have also claimed to have launched numerous attacks, fires and threats against the republic itself.

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms these criminal acts and call on democratic forces to move in the same direction,” the statement said.
