The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to cover the private sector and how it can promote economic inclusion at its annual meeting and business forum.

The meeting will be held May 9-11.

The bank aims to promote the economic inclusion of women, young adults and individuals living in underdeveloped regions by engaging with the private sector, according to a bank press release.

Last year, the bank supported 22 projects offering credit lines to female entrepreneurs and retail establishments that help young adults find work and earn job skills. As one example, a training facility in the Abdali Mall in Amman trains young people while offering job opportunities. By the end of last year, 100 had completed the training program and currently have jobs.

The EBRD also loaned $54.4 million to Turkish fruit and juice company Anadolu Etap, which will help increase skills for those in the farming industry. Special training is offered particularly to women interested in farming.

Last year, the EBRD also started a program to help provide high-quality on-the-job educational opportunities to young adults in Croatia.
