Euroins Romania, part of the Euroins Insurance Group JSC (EIG), recently signed an agreement to acquire some of the insurance policies held by Romanian ATE Insurance, which is owned by Piraeus Bank.

The deal does not include life insurance policies. Euroins Romania is diversifying its portfolio.

“The acquisition of the portfolio of ATE Insurance will further strengthen our position on the Romanian market,” Mihnea Tobesku, CEO of Euroins Romania, said.

The deal is subject to regulatory approval.

Euroins Romania experienced 21.8 percent growth in premium income last year. The company’s goal this year is to maintain market position.
