easyJet has launched a new direct route between Ljubljana Airport and Manchester, expanding its services from Slovenia to the United Kingdom. The inaugural flight was marked by a ceremony at Ljubljana Airport, where passengers and crew were welcomed.

The new connection offers Slovenian travelers direct access to northern England, with flights operating every Tuesday and Saturday on an Airbus A320 aircraft that seats 186 passengers. Tickets are available on easyJet’s website, with one-way fares starting at €29.49.

Manchester is recognized for its industrial history, prominent football clubs such as Manchester United—where Slovenian player Benjamin Šeško plays—and its active cultural scene. The city is also noted as a business and educational hub, hosting several universities and technology companies.

Dr. Babett Stapel, Managing Director of Fraport Slovenija, stated: “We are delighted that easyJet has strengthened our long-standing partnership by introducing this new route, further expanding the range of low-cost connections available from our airport. Flights to Manchester will be a valuable addition to our connectivity with the UK market, supporting both inbound tourism and stronger business links between our two countries.”

easyJet began operations at Ljubljana Airport in 2004 with flights to London Gatwick. Manchester is one of easyJet’s main bases in the UK, providing links to over 80 destinations across Europe including major cities and Mediterranean holiday locations. In addition to the Manchester service, easyJet plans to launch another route connecting Ljubljana with Edinburgh in the upcoming spring season.
