Ljubljana Airport will introduce a new direct route to Edinburgh, operated by easyJet, starting April 4, 2026. The flights will run twice weekly, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, using a 186-seat Airbus A320. Tickets are available now, with one-way fares starting at 35.49 euros.

The new connection to Edinburgh adds to easyJet’s existing routes from Ljubljana to London Gatwick and Manchester. Dr. Babett Stapel, Managing Director of Fraport Slovenija, commented on the announcement: “We are delighted to see low-cost flight options from Ljubljana continue to expand. EasyJet has strengthened our long-term partnership by adding a new route to Edinburgh, giving Slovenian travelers direct access to Scotland, while also contributing to an increase in British tourist visits to Slovenia. In addition, passengers from Ljubljana will be able to enjoy seamless connections to many other destinations across the UK and Europe, simplifying travel for both leisure and business.”

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, stated: “It’s great to be able to offer our customers yet another new route from Ljubljana to Edinburgh, providing travellers with a convenient, direct gateway to one of Europe’s most charming and vibrant cities. By growing our network in Europe, we continue to enhance connectivity for customers who choose easyJet for our unrivalled network, fantastic service, and great value fares, and we look forward to welcoming them on board.”

EasyJet has operated at Ljubljana Airport since 2004, when it began flights to London. The airline has maintained a presence at the airport for over 20 years.

In September 2025, Ljubljana Airport saw passenger numbers rise by 13% compared to the same month in 2024. Over the first nine months of 2025, more than 1.23 million travelers passed through the airport, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year.
