Deputy Prime Minister visits Varna Airport to review investment in passenger facilities

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications of Bulgaria, Grozdan Karadjov, visited Varna Airport, where he was received by Michael Reusch, CEO of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD, and Dimitar Kostadinov, Director of Varna Airport.

During his visit, Minister Karadjov received an update on the investments made by the airport concessionaire at both Varna and Burgas airports. These investments focus on infrastructure upgrades, improving passenger experience, and supporting sustainable development for Bulgaria’s coastal airports.

The minister toured new passenger areas at Varna Airport. This included the Gate Garden zone, described as a unique space in Europe that offers a modern and environmentally friendly area designed to enhance comfort and functionality for travelers.

Minister Karadjov highlighted the value of these outdoor spaces in improving comfort for passengers and providing welcoming environments. He stated: “Exceptional passenger experience is key to modern travel.” He also noted that Varna Airport is well-positioned to handle future increases in air traffic.
