Croatia Airlines has received its seventh new Airbus A220 aircraft as part of a plan to renew and modernize its fleet. The latest arrival is the airline’s first A220-100, registered as 9A-CAO and named Dubrovnik. This aircraft came directly from the Airbus facility in Mirabel, Canada, joining six previously delivered A220-300s, each with a seating capacity of 149 passengers.

Jasmin Bajić, CEO of Croatia Airlines, stated:

“We are proud to have become the fifth airline in the world to operate an Airbus A220-100, with the special distinction that our newest aircraft has the highest seating capacity of its type in-service. Our first A220-100, named after Dubrovnik, the jewel of Croatia’s tourism, will further strengthen our flight network, provide both passengers and crews with a first-class flying experience, and at the same time contribute to the more sustainable operations of our company. We thank our partners – Airbus as manufacturer and Air Lease Corporation as lessor – for their excellent cooperation and support in carrying out the renewal of our entire fleet, the largest strategic project in the history of Croatia Airlines.”

The airline plans to complete its fleet renewal by 2027. By then, Croatia Airlines will operate 15 new Airbus A220 aircraft, including 13 A220-300s and two A220-100s.
