COMMERCE BANK OF SOFIA: Credit deferral mechanisms related to the COVID-19 pandemic

Commerce Bank of Sofia issued the following announcement on April 16.

Commercial Bank D AD supports its clients in the dynamic environment of a global pandemic. In this regard, we offer options for deferring credit obligations to those of you who have or are expected to have difficulty servicing your obligations under the contract concluded with the bank in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions imposed by the the measures and actions during the state of emergency declared by a decision of the National Assembly of 13.03.2020 and their consequences. For this purpose the clients (natural or legal persons) should have withdrawn their credit before 03/31/2020, have it serviced on a regular basis or not be in arrears for more than 90 days by 01/03/2020, and have explicitly stated their wish through an application was submitted by 22.06.2020 explaining the reasons for the requested delay.

Possible deferral mechanisms are:

  • Repayment of principal and interest for a term up to 6 months, but not later than 31.12.2020, with a new repayment plan applied after the expiration of the islet;
  • Repayment of principal for a period of up to 6 months, but not later than 31.12.2020, with a new repayment plan applied after the expiration of the deferral;
  • Re-negotiation of principal payments or minimum repayment installment of revolving products – credit card, overdraft facility and credit line for a term up to 6 months, but no later than 31.12.2020.

Credit products that can be deferred by any of the mechanisms are:

  • Consumer, consumer mortgage and home loans, credit cards and overdrafts for individuals;
  • Investment and working capital loans, credit lines and overdrafts, credit cards for all business clients, public companies and municipalities.

Any client wishing to take advantage of the deferral mechanisms should submit applications (in person at the bank’s office or via e-mail), explicitly stating the difficulties that he or she is experiencing and the ability to pay the installments. the credits it uses.
