The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) recently announced the May winners of its Leii BVB competition, rewarding investors on the market with their chance to win prizes like city breaks in cities throughout Europe.

The monthly competition will run through November.

This month, Dan Groza won the grand prize for the second time in the competition’s run, earning a city break worth $1,142 offered by Paravion. Groza will choose between a three-day trip to London, Milan or Prague, according to a press release.

“On the long term, only those who invest, are able to win,” Groza said in the release. “Thus, I continue to encourage other investors to join the Leii BVB competition.”

The competition allows traders on the market to register each trade they make over the course of the month for an entry into the drawing. May saw more than 11,000 trades registered on the competition website, with a total value of $18.77 million. The second prize winner for May, Gheorghe Tutuianu, won a Fitbit from iStyle Retail.

“I invest in companies from financial, banking, energy and utilities sectors,” Tutuianu said. “I think the talk with the broker is always beneficial, especially for the beginners. I recommend those who just start their adventure with capital markets to begin with a modest amount. You have to build your own investment strategy and respect it with great discipline and rigor.”
