BVB names March winners of Leii BVB competition

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) recently announced the March winners of its ongoing Leii BVB competition, which offers prizes to individual investors who making trades of any value throughout the month.

The winners were Dan Groza, who won a $1,072.45 trip to Dubai, Catania or Valencia, and Andreea Vasiliu, who won a Fitbit Blaze Series smartwatch.

“I began investing in the capital market in the search for better returns,” Groza said in an announcement. “I joined Leii BVB competition in order to win and I believe there are good chances for other investors to qualify for the awards. For those who want to start investing in the stock market, I would advise to diversify their portfolio and, in the beginning, to buy shares in stable companies and to devote some time to read about the companies’ performance.”

Groza won on a trade of Transgaz (TGN), with BT Capital Partners serving as the intermediary. Vasiliu won for a trade on Romgaz (SNG) with brokerage house Rombell Securities serving as the intermediary. The competition honors the 150th anniversary of the Romania’s currency, the Leu, and is designed to encourage individual investors on the exchange.

“I liked the idea of a competition on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and I, therefore, decided to join Leii BVB,” Vasiliu said in the announcement. “To all potential investors, I would advise to carry out a careful financial analysis prior to investing in a specific company.”
