On November 6, 2025, the Bulgarian Stock Exchange and the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) signed a new Memorandum of Cooperation. The agreement was formalized during the Twentieth International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists at UNWE, which focused on Bulgaria’s economic development and its upcoming membership in the Eurozone as of January 1, 2026.

The memorandum was signed by Assoc. Prof. Dr Manyu Moravenov, Executive Director of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, and Prof. Dr Dimitar Dimitrov, Rector of UNWE. The agreement outlines collaboration in education, research, applied analysis, and other areas.

During the event, Assoc. Prof. Moravenov acknowledged the efforts of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting’s leadership for organizing the conference. He stated: “I congratulate the leadership of the FFA of UNWE – Dean Prof. Dr Rumen Brusarski and Deputy Dean Prof. Dr Silvia Trifonova – for organising and hosting the anniversary scientific conference of young scientists, which highlights some of the most significant economic topics for the country’s development and its future within a united Europe.” He also added his optimism about Bulgaria’s Eurozone accession: “Bulgaria’s accession to the Eurozone will open new opportunities for the Bulgarian business, the national economy, and academia.”

The renewed three-year memorandum continues a longstanding partnership between both institutions aimed at supporting academic initiatives involving students and businesses. Prof. Dr Silvia Trifonova will serve as coordinator for UNWE under this agreement.
