The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) and its partners are pushing for an annual May 15 National Investment Day to promote Romania through a series of special events.

This is the most ambitious national project undertaken by a European stock exchange to increase financial literacy, according to a BVB press release.

This year, BVB will host a series of events on May 14-15 designed to encourage investments. The events take place on the terrace of the Promenada Mall, 246B Floreasca Avenue in Bucharest. Free seminars and financial consulting will be offered.

A photo exhibition called “The Bucharest Stock Exchange and the Financial Identity of Romania” will be open to the public during the expo, covering 135 years of the BVB.

A petition to make May 15 the official National Investment Day can be signed at www.primainvestitie.ro, in support of a legislative initiative. Those signing the petition will receive an investment kit.
