Bank of Greece: Average interest rates stable on deposits in November

The Bank of Greece reports that in November, the weighted average interest rate on deposits remained stable while the average interest rate on new loans decreased.

The overall weighted average interest rate on new deposits remained at 0.35 percent, while the interest on overnight deposits placed by individuals stayed at 0.12 percent. Comparatively, the interest rate on overnight deposits by non-financial corporations held at 0.17 percent.

During the same month, the average interest rate on consumer loans for credit cards, open account loans and overdrafts remained at 14.48 percent while the interest on consumer loans with a set maturity and a floating rate increased to 7.96 percent.

The interest rate on corporate loans without a defined maturity decreased to 5.7 percent while the rate on loans to sole proprietors decreased to 7.36 percent.
