Banca Transilvania (BT) is supporting “green” projects by offeringl loans to improve energy efficiency, according to a press release on the bank website.

BT is able to offer the loans thanks to a 40-million euro partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and its Green Economy Financing Facility program.

BT’s loans for green projects can be used for purchases such as new energy-efficient homes and appliances. A gift card program serves as an incentive to help customers choose efficient refrigerators, freezers and air conditioning equipment.

In an effort to promote environmental friendliness even more BT’s advertising materials are printed on recycled paper and billboards won’t be illuminated until it’s dark outside, thanks to daylight sensors.
