American University in Bulgaria hosts 24th annual job fair

More than 50 global and regional companies participated in the 24th annual Job and Internship Fair held recently at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG).

Companies such as Procter & Gamble, Ernst & Young and British American Tobacco were at the fair offer internships and full-time work to students in fields such as finance, journalism, design and business analytics.

The Alumni Placement and Salary Survey from September shows that 99.8 percent of AUBG graduates found jobs or enrolled in grad school within a few months of graduation, according to a press release on the school’s website. The survey noted that 65 percent of respondents received more than one offer for a job or graduate program. Another 20 percent of alumni noted that they earn more than $100,000 annually, and 20 percent of alumni from 1995-2005 who work in the United States earn more than $250,000 per year.

“I am so happy to meet famous international corporations at the fair,” fourth-year student Mariela Naydenova said in the release. “Makes me feel special to have them on campus.”

Employers also were happy to meet with students, taking pictures and providing information about openings.
