Two new airlines will join Ljubljana Airport with the start of the 2025 summer season. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and the German low-cost carrier Eurowings are among the 24 airlines that will provide flights to 26 destinations. More than 170 scheduled flights per week are expected. The summer schedule begins on March 30 and runs until October 25.
KLM plans to begin its operations on March 30 with daily flights to Amsterdam. Combined with Transavia's service, this will allow passengers the opportunity to fly to Amsterdam up to 11 times weekly. These flights will operate with Embraer 190 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Eurowings introduces three weekly low-cost flights to Düsseldorf, starting April 12. Flights will leave on Mondays and Thursdays at 12:50 PM and on Sundays at 11:20 AM, using Airbus A319 aircraft.
Slovenia's state incentives as part of the Public Call for Improved Air Connectivity have supported Eurowings' connection to Düsseldorf. Other routes added under this program include Luxair to Luxembourg, airBaltic to Riga, and Norwegian to Copenhagen.
Turkish Airlines plans to increase its service to Istanbul to 18 flights weekly in June. British Airways will expand flights to London Heathrow to eight times weekly by June, while SWISS Airlines will raise its frequency to Zurich to 12 flights each week.
The seasonal routes resuming service after the winter break include Norwegian to Copenhagen, GP Aviation to Pristina, Finnair to Helsinki, and several others according to specified dates. Dr. Babett Stapel from Fraport Slovenija commented on the growth. "In the 2025 summer schedule, Ljubljana Airport will have strengthened connectivity with an expanded range of destinations, airlines, and a number of flights. We will welcome two new carriers – KLM and Eurowings – bringing the total number of scheduled airlines in our network to a record 24."
The full summer schedule details various routes along with their flight frequencies. Among these, airBaltic flies twice weekly to Riga, while Iberia provides two weekly flights to Madrid.
Tour operators have 52 holiday destinations planned for the summer. These include Greek islands, destinations in Egypt, Tunisia, Turkey, Spain, and France, along with other attractive locations.
