Raising capital opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises was the focus of the second strategic meeting of the beamUp lab programme, Gravity MeetUp II, hosted by the Bulgarian Stock Exchange. The event emphasized practical guidelines for a successful IPO on the Stock Exchange.
"In this year, beamUp lab celebrates five years since its establishment. Via direct collaboration and through our partners, such as BDB and the Fund of Funds, we succeeded in working with nearly 100 selected Bulgarian businesses. We hope some will soon join the Bulgarian Stock Exchange with an IPO. Given the dynamic and uncertain global economic processes, access to financing is more important than ever. Companies that invest in growth and innovation must have stable and predictable sources of capital. And the capital market is a key instrument for them to ensure sustainable development," stated Assoc Prof Dr Manyu Moravenov, CEO of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
Key topics included opportunities provided by the beam growth market and specifics of going public. Zhanna Hristova introduced SpaceCrowd, Bulgaria's first crowdfunding platform for startups.
The event featured a professional discussion with Alexander Tsvetkov, CEO of Boleron; Filip Mutafis, CEO of Paysera; and Angel Rabadzhiyski, CEO of Karoll Brokerage.
Martin Bochev from EY presented a model for evaluating business models and forecasting company value.
Participating companies in the beamUp lab programme drew significant interest with their presentations. Speakers included Yordan Dabov of DABOV Specialty Coffee, Krasen Topalov of Top's Honey, Todor Madzharov of Office Acoustics (Meavo), Gergana Stancheva of LAM'ON, and Antoan Shotarov of Donatix.
The meeting was attended by representatives from 19 companies selected for the programme's fifth edition along with partners and consultants. Hristo Nikolov moderated the event.
