Slovenia is making its presence felt at the World Travel Market (WTM) London, a key event in the global tourism industry. This event, which runs from November 5 to 7, serves as a platform for tourism professionals to explore emerging trends and form partnerships. Last year, it attracted business participants from 184 countries.
MSc. Maja Pak Olaj, Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board, emphasized Slovenia's focus on sustainable tourism: "World Travel Market London is a dynamic platform for ideas, opportunities and innovations that are shaping the future of tourism... Slovenia stands out at WTM London not only for its rich culture and natural beauty but also for its innovative promotional strategies and a clear vision of sustainable tourism that meets the expectations of modern travellers."
At this year's event, 21 destinations and providers from Slovenia are represented. These include Ljubljana Tourism, Bled Tourist Board, Julian Alps, Maribor Tourist Board among others. The new Ambassador to London, Sonja Štiglic noted: "Slovenia has traditionally been present at one of the world’s most influential tourism business events in London... The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in London will continue to support the activities of the Slovenian Tourist Board aimed at increasing the number of tourist visits and overnight stays from the UK to Slovenia."
A highlight was 'Travel Talks' with Holly Rubenstein featuring discussions on Ljubljana's cultural treasures and culinary scene. Branka Gradišar from Tourism Ljubljana and Nejc Kovačič from Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana shared insights into local festivals and culinary offerings.
The Julian Alps Sensory Adventure continues with plans for spring 2025 in Kranjska Gora. Tit Potočnik and Klemen Langus highlighted this initiative's focus on conscious travel.
