The Tour of Slovenia, a prominent international cycling event, will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year. The Slovenian Tourist Board (STB), in collaboration with the Adria Mobil Cycling Club, has ensured that the race will be broadcast on Eurosport, reaching millions of viewers globally.
The STB plans to enhance Slovenia's visibility by promoting tourist attractions along the race route. Details were shared during a press conference in Ljubljana.
This year's race will span five stages across various locations in Slovenia and neighboring countries. It features 22 elite teams, including six top-tier ones. Starting on June 12 in Murska Sobota, it concludes on June 16 in Novo mesto.
MSc. Maja Pak Olaj, director of the Slovenian Tourist Board, expressed satisfaction with their ongoing partnership: “Through our partnership with Eurosport... we are introducing Slovenia to millions of sports enthusiasts while also boosting the race's visibility and popularity among local audiences."
Eurosport will provide 11 hours of live coverage, reaching an audience exceeding 88 million viewers monthly. The advertising campaign includes 230 TV commercials and significant online presence through Eurosport.com and apps.
The STB will engage fans through digital channels and social media platforms. Spectators are expected along all five stages adorned with "I Feel Slovenia" flags.
Last year, the race attracted over 10 million live viewers on Eurosport channels since 2016.
The race covers a total length of 840 kilometers, extending into Hungary, Austria, Croatia, and Italy. The winner receives a replica of the oldest wooden wheel trophy.
Additionally, the Kids Tour of Slovenia is scheduled from July 5 to 7 as part of the celebrations.
