The third edition of the prestigious Innovation Consumer Innovation Competition "Product of the Year" awarded mobile banking after a national representative survey
The Mobile Banking of United Bulgarian Bank, part of the Belgian financial group KBC, was declared "Product of the Year" in the category "Mobile Banking Services". The award is part of the "Product of the Year" international competition dedicated to innovation in the consumer sector. The awards ceremony took place on April 23, 2019 in Sofia and the winners were broadcasted by consumers as a result of an independent national survey conducted by Nielsen. UBB Mobile was honored among dozens of innovative products and services launched on the Bulgarian market in the last 18 months.
The Mobile Banking Prize was received by Mr. Christophe De Mil, Executive Director of Finance of UBB and Innovation Leader of KBC Group in Bulgaria. "The honor is an extraordinary acknowledgment to us, but it is also a confirmation that innovation in the financial sector is the trend we need to follow in order to be adequate to the needs of our customers," said De Mill at the award ceremony. "We want to be the engine to impose standards in our field, digitalization and introduction of innovations are necessary conditions for the implementation of the so- o zi process" , added the innovative leader of UBB.
UBB's commitment to the sustainable introduction of innovative solutions in the products and services of the institution is supported by the recently introduced on the Bulgarian market multibranking functionality in mobile banking. This is a convenience that allows bank customers to track information about their bills, available stock, traffic, and transaction details in four other banks. Mobile banking itself, UBB Mobile enjoys consumer confidence and marks a 145% increase in its users in 2018. The application is preferred for the convenience of being used at any time and anywhere, as well as for the freedom of the user to perform a series of banking operations on its own.
The award in the Product of the Year competition is another argument in favor of UBB's philosophy to offer innovative customer-oriented solutions in line with the dynamically digitizing financial sector.
