BRD - Groupe Societe Generale issued the following announcement on March 6.
The new functionality allows real-time transfer towards a BRD account of money from accounts opened with other banks. The transfer is done in the same way as an e-commerce payment, through a debit card, in RON, issued by a bank in Romania.
The maximum amount that can be transferred monthly in the BRD account from accounts opened with other banks is 30,000 RON, in up to 5 transactions. The customer can also choose to make the transfer with a certain recurrence.
The transfer is instant and free of charge. BRD does not charge any commission for this type of operation.
Instant Top-up is the second functionality launched by BRD’s Digital Hub after ContAll, an account aggregator. An unique functionality in the Romanian market so far, ContAll allows any MyBRD Mobile user to access in one place information about accounts and products owned at BRD and other banks: current accounts, debit and credit cards, time deposits and savings accounts, account balance and transaction history. At this point, ContAll aggregates information from accounts at eight banking institutions in Romania - BRD, BCR, ING, Raiffeisen, Banca Transilvania, Alpha Bank, UniCredit Bank, CEC Bank and one from abroad - Société Générale.
"The creation of the Digital Hub and the use of Agile working mode enable us to bring faster new functionalities to the market. Starting with visualizing their accounts, regardless of the bank, customers now have the opportunity to instantly bring their money from another bank to their BRD account. Our goal is to give our clients the freedom to choose their preferred application to perform transactions, regardless of the bank, which prepares and educates them for PSD2 experience", said Bogdan Brăslaşu, Digital and Omnichannel Director, BRD.
BRD has a stock of 1.6 million digital banking contracts and has "signed" several firsts for the banking system. The bank is one of the initiators of contactless technology in Romania, it launched the first NFC pilot in the Romanian banking system, has provided innovative functionalities for the mobile banking service (split the bill, money transfer to a phone number, money transfer between two phones mobile by simply touching, the account aggregator). In 2018, bank customers made over 7 million mobile and online transactions.
