The Serbian government has signed on as a limited partner of the Enterprise Innovation Fund (ENIF) to help support young technology companies in the Western Balkan region.
ENIF, managed by South Central Ventures, is an equity fund designed to help early-stage tech firms grow globally, according to a press release on the fund's website. Current investors in the fund include the European Commission and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as private investors.
So far the fund has helped eight tech companies, including four Serbian tech firms.
A conference for the ENIF was held recently in Belgrade, with talks by the ministers of economy, education, science and others.
