Aegean Airlines will sponsor the 12th Marathon of Limassol next year, which is expected to host nearly 15,000 runners in four races, according to a release from the airline.
Aegean has signed on to the event as a Gold Sponsor for the fourth year in a row, according to a press release. In honor of the Cyprus-based event, which will take place on March 18, the airline offered special discounts to those traveling to and from Larnaca around the time of the race. Flyers received a discount of up to 40 percent for flights to Cyprus from Nov. 6 to March 21.
Aegean Miles+Bonus program members who are planning to run in the marathon will receive a 50 percent discount on their registration fees if they register before Oct. 31. They will also earn miles for their race, with those running the 5km receiving 500 miles and those running the 10km receiving 1,000 miles. Participants in the half marathon, or 21km, will earn 2,100 miles and those running the full marathon, or 42km, will earn 4,200 miles.
