Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) has won the Best Bank in Central and Eastern Europe award from Global Finance magazine.
The bank has won top honors for the regional award 11 of the past 14 years. RBI was also named Best Bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Ukraine, taking honors for its subsidiary banks in those areas.
“Being named best bank in Central and Eastern Europe is both an honor and an assignment to continue our strive for quality and providing first class services and products throughout the region,” Johann Strobl, CEO of RBI, said in a press release. “The award also reflects our good strategic position and performance, including the improved quality of our assets and strengthened capital ratios.”
RBI is based in Austria but also considers Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) its home market. The bank has 50,000 employees in 2,500 business outlets, according to the release.
