A real estate company with a global footprint has opened a new office in Bucharest, Romania.
Avison Young has 80 offices in places like North America, Mexico and Europe.
Now, the firm is appointing David Canta Principal of Avison Young's Bucharest operations, and Managing Director of the new office.
"The opening in Bucharest represents another milestone in our European expansion strategy," Avison Young CEO Mark Rose said in a press statement. "We are thrilled to be launching our first office in Romania … furthermore, we're delighted to have David Canta, who is a highly regarded commercial real estate professional, guiding our expansion program in Bucharest. He and his team have strong capabilities covering office, industrial and valuation assignments, and their experience and expertise will benefit our clients and company alike as we expand our footprint in the dynamic Bucharest marketplace. We couldn't be more pleased to have David, Gabriel, Alina and Emanuel on board."
Calling Bucharest an “underserved market,” Rose said the new office will enhance “multi-market transactions on both sides of the Atlantic.”
Rose spoke to Balkan Business Wire about the company's strategy in opening up the Bucharest office.
Citing Avison Young’s range of services, from property and facilities management to investment and consulting, Rose stressed that the company is uniquely positioned to work in regional real estate markets.
“Not everyone focuses on serving all clients and product types,” Rose said. “We are able to bring the power of our global platform (to new locations).”
The move to Bucharest makes sense for the company’s long-term plans, he said.
“This is just the start of finishing the European expansion,” Rose said.
Another factor, he said, is striving to serve the corporate culture and the nature of business partnerships.
“Everything that we do is based on culture,” Rose said. “We feel that culture drives revenue, and not the other way around.”
