Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) has published the second edition of its Whitebook on Communication of Listed Companies.
The publication evaluates best practices of listed companies in terms of communication with their investors, according to a press release on the stock exchange's website. It also divulges weaknesses and offers information to help companies improve their communications and their websites.
The publication covers 83 domestic companies traded on BVB's Main Market. Companies were evaluated on a 10-point scale and assessed on details such as user-friendly websites, accuracy of information, promptness and accuracy in answering IR-related questions via email. Only 39 of the companies responded to an anonymous request for dividend-policy information, four companies did not have a functional website and 52 companies offered IR content in both Romanian and English. As a result, 39 companies scored less than four points ,while eight received scores of 9 or better. The top scorers are Biofarm, BVB, Conpet, Fondul Proprietatea, OMV Petrom, Romgaz, SIF Banat-Crisana and Transgaz.
BVB plans to host an awards gala to honor the top companies in various categories. Details will be announced soon, according to the press release.
