The Republic of Srpska has entered into an agreement with NCR Company Banja Luka to help create new jobs.
The agreement was signed by Jasmin Komic, minister of science and technology, and Vladan Zivanovic, NCR Banja Luka's deputy director. Sprska Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic also attended the meeting, along with the Zlatan Klokic, minister of economic relations and regional cooperation.
Cvijanovic said after signing the agreement, the government would provide $1.1 million in two tranches, $555,308.80 per year on the account of employment support of 100 workers this year and another 100 next year in NCR Banja Luka.
"This is an investment of two million BAM in two years, one million per year and we expect the return of 3.5 million thorough taxes and contributions," Cvijanovic said. "We saw our prospects looking at the government of Serbia which recently signed a new agreement with NCR on the employment of additional 1,700 workers in Serbia. Our ambitions are to follow the example of Serbia even though we cannot match those numbers. We expect that around 200 workers would be employed as planned by the agreement."
"It looked like a dream then that we would enter this arrangement that would contribute to opening of new jobs but also positioning of the Republic of Srpska on the global network and business activities in this sector," Cvijanovic said.
Komic said that such support of businesses will make Srpska a desirable place for investments.
