The Bank of Greece recently posted its bank-lending survey results for the first quarter.
Credit standards and terms and conditions for loans to nonfinancial corporations (NFCs) remained the same as the last quarter of last year. The bank expects the results will remain much the same during the second quarter this year as well, according to an announcement.
The demand for loans remained steady through this quarter, with a slight increase in loan demand by small and medium-size companies. Demand is expected to stay fairly constant for the second quarter.
Loans to individuals or households also remained nearly the same as in the fourth quarter of 2016; the demand is expected to stay the same for the second quarter, as well.
The total number of rejected loan applications is also on par with results form the fourth quarter of last year, although the number decreased slightly for housing loans.
