Travel agents have a tough job.
These days, there’s so much information online that it becomes challenging to work through the battery of discount and search apps to present customers with the best choices.
A lot of the work of travel professionals involves aggregating the right data, and getting customers knowledgeable about particular destinations for itineraries.
A Romanian startup called Pro4Travel is offering networking and career tools for those involved in the travel industry.
Through various visual dashboards, the Pro4Travel service offers professionals a way to look at travel deals, while also handling client requests, interacting with customers and cooperating with other businesses in the field, all through the power of a software-as-a-service design.
"We are the first social network for professionals in tourism,” Pro4Travel’s Public Relationship Officer Aleksandar Simunić told Balkan Business Wire. “The goal of our company is to gather all professionals in tourism in one place. We have designed our platform for that purpose.”
Simunić said the company hopes to provide a one-stop shop for various types of travel outreach and marketing.
"Our intention is to offer content which will satisfy all of the needs connected to the tourism business,” Simunić said. “Our partners could offer their products, share useful information, and build strategic partnerships through our platform.”
Simunić said Pro4Travel is still in the early stage, but optimistic about its prospects in terms of providing a venue for travel agents and other tourism workers to compare notes.
As for the company's placement in Romania, Simunić is hopeful about building a successful content model there.
“We think that it is possible to do business well in the Balkans,” Simunić said.
