Eurobank hosted its second “Beyond Hackathon” competition recently, in partnership with Found.ation & The Cube.

The competition was supported and promoted by Eurobank Group Banks and a number of affiliated banks in Serbia and Bulgaria.

More than 170 software developers, designers and marketers from around the United Kingdom, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania submitted their ideas.

Presentations covered a number of topics such as person-to-person lending, gamification and augmented reality.

The actual hackathon featured presentations from 35 teams, with the top three winning cash prizes. A student team called Block17 took top prize for an application for interbank transfers. Second place went to Hacking Squad for an idea to use voice commands to simplify banking transactions. Third place went to Wire Buzz for e-commerce that uses push notifications.
