Board members from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are visiting Albania to meet with government officials, entrepreneurs and representatives of civic organizations, according to an EBRD press release.
One highlight of the trip is a planned visit to a business boosted by the Albania Agribusiness Support Facility (AASF). The AASF supports agriculture-based businesses by offering access to special financing such as dedicated credit lines. The Albanian government helps support the program.
Part of the trip will be to discuss the EBRD's priorities in Albania, such as building a strong entrepreneurial spirit, promoting sustainable energy and environmentally sound investments.
The EBRD has invested $1.6 billion in 77 different Albanian projects so far, with most of the funding going toward infrastructure and energy projects, as these offer the most promising potential, according to the press release.
