Daniele Nouy, chairperson of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) at the European Central Bank, recently visited the Bank of Greece in Athens to meet with staff and exchange views on banking and the Greek debt situation.
The debt issue, non-performing loans and prospects for Greece's banks this year were the key topics she discussed with Gov. Yannis Stournaras and Bank of Greece officials. Greek bank management and representatives of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) and the Hellenic Bank Association also took part in the talks. The discussions netted a positive outcome, although specific details were not announced, according to a Bank of Greece press release.
Nouy also shared views on banking supervision with staff from all Bank of Greece departments and thanked the bank team for cooperating with the SSM.
