Karlheinz Dobnigg, CEO of Raiffeisen Bank, was recently named the president of the Association of Banks of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"It is my great honor to take over this function and I am aware of its responsibilities," Dobnigg said. "I think it very important that the Association of Banks always act in the interests of all its members, from the smallest to the largest banks in this market. My colleagues from the association together with me are willing to cooperate with all relevant institutions as well as to provide consulting services regarding the development of the financial sector."
Dobnigg also said he felt the banking sector is stable in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will also create more business growth and economic opportunities.
Dobnigg was unanimously voted into the position late last year at a meeting of the Assembly of the Association of Banks of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Association of Banks is designed to build confidence in the banking sector via the media, sufficient training and through cooperation with similar organizations in other regions.
