Results from a recent bank lending survey by the Bank of Greece shows that the demand for loans to non-financial corporations (NFCs) remained unchanged in the fourth quarter of last year compared to the third quarter.
Bank officials also expect credit standards will stay the same during the first quarter of this year. A slight increase in demand for loans by small and medium companies is expected to be balanced out by a decrease in demand for loans from larger companies.
Overall, fourth-quarter loan terms to NFCs mirror those in the third quarter of last year.
The demand for loans to households also stayed the same during this period and is expected to remain the same in the first quarter of 2017.
